The Root Stand

Fast Liquid Rooting
The Root Stand Features
The Root Stand is a tool designed to facilitate plant growth in liquid media, offering benefits such as improved nutrient diffusion and uptake rates compared to semisolid media.
Improved Nutrient Diffusion
Liquid media used with the Root Stand allows for better diffusion and uptake rates of nutrients compared to semisolid media.
Faster Root Development
When paired with a rocker, the Root Stand facilitated roots to develop twice as fast in an experiment with Banana plants.
Uniform Rooting
The Root Stand in liquid media led to more uniform rooting, with 100% of explants rooting successfully, avoiding the uneven distribution of nutrients in semisolid media.
Eliminates Washing
Unlike semisolid media, the Root Stand in liquid media eliminates the need to wash gel off the roots, simplifying the rooting process.

How it works
The two pieces are placed into the We-V box and held up by the walls of the vessel. The top piece is placed upside down to create a grid pattern. Add liquid rooting media and autoclave. When the media has cooled place your explants in the lattice.
When the rooting phase is completed, the two pieces simply slide apart, releasing all your plants. These can be dropped into a bucket of water, and brought directly to your potting station.
Note: Diagram shows a prototype Root Stand, but the function of releasing the plants is identical.
